Children Ministries

Children are our future! At Hope we offer many opportunities to teach children about what it means to become a Christian, leading them to Jesus’ transforming love.

Contact Ann Ebbert, Director of Discipleship, with any questions.

Children’s Church – Sundays concurrent with the 11:00 am service, the children 4th grade and younger are offered a program just for them! At Hope, children have the opportunity to weekly rotate through “learning labs” that may include activities like videos, cooking, science, story telling, games and singing to help them incorporate the timeless truths of the Bible into their lives. The eight foundations we hope every child will understand are: Who is God, Who is Jesus, Who is the Holy Spirit, What is salvation, What is the Bible, How does the Old Testament relate to the New Testament, Spiritual disciplines (like prayer and worship) and How to share their faith with others. A traditional Sunday School class is available for those children in 5th or 6th grade.

Wednesday Evening Programming – Children are offered their own small group experience on Wednesday evenings. We have hands on activities to highlight the Biblical truth being highlighted in adult worship. In this way, families can have “chat time” after the evening is over, incorporating Christian discussion at home.

Vacation Bible School – Each summer, Hope Church is a part of the Whitehouse community- wide VBS program. The leadership of Whitehouse VBS is rotated annually at the three churches in Whitehouse (Hope United Methodist, Zion United Methodist and Community of Christ Lutheran) and is open to all children in our community. It is an exciting time of high-energy activity and singing!

Cub and Boy Scouts – Hope Church is honored to be the sponsoring church for the Whitehouse area Boy Scout and Cub Scout program. The scouts meet at the church multiple nights a week and hold annual events like the Pine Wood Derby and annual awards ceremonies in the Christian Life Center. Contact Clif Vaughan with any questions.

Cherub Choir – Our littlest singers (2nd grade to pre-k) can stretch their vocal chords by being involved in the Cherub Choir. The choir practices on Sundays during Children’s Church and sings every 2nd Sunday for the 11:00 am service. Contact Pat Hooks with questions.

The Potentials – Kids a bit older than the cherubs can offer their musical talents through The Potentials. This band made up of youngsters 3rd through 8th grades often writes and then performs their own music! A great way for kids to offer budding musical gifts! Contact Tim Brown with questions.

Camperships – Some of the most formative Christian times for kids are when they head out to Church Camp. Hope Church offers many scholarships (called camperships), sponsored by the Hope church members, to financially assist any child who wishes to go to camp.
